Who I AM

My Practice

With over 20 years experience in the behavioral health field I have decided to open a private practice to offer care to individuals in need. My experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized counseling. I treat a number of mental health disorders and provide a safe environment to explore maladaptive responses to life stressors and events. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-R) and a credentialed drug and alcohol counselor (CASAC). I hold a master’s degree in social work from Roberts Wesleyan College and I am licensed in the state of New York. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a case worker with foster care and preventive work with at-risk children and families. After obtaining my graduate degree in 2000, I have worked in a wide variety of clinical settings, including with active-duty military soldiers. I have vast experience working with a very diverse population in crisis and non-crisis settings. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, acute care settings within psychiatric emergency departments, and provided behavioral health consultation to hospital medical floors. I have provided care on chemical dependency detox units and inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation programs. I have also worked with incarcerated populations. Past positions held include: director of a medically supervised detox inpatient rehab facility; director of mental health services in a county jail; psychiatric social worker on an inpatient MICA unit; counselor at a substance abuse program at Fort Drum (10th Mountain Division). For the past seven years I have worked as a psychiatric evaluator in a Rochester emergency department.

My Treatment Focus

My focus is to help individuals heal and become aware of their inner strengths. This is achieved by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.

Patient Promise

My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
